Ingredients
  

  • 3 slices 100% whole wheat bread (toasted)
  • ½ cup cottage cheese

Savory Toast Topping Ideas

  • Sliced tomatoes, cucumber and/or avocado
  • Microgreens, sprouts, onion slices, or fresh herbs
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Lemon juice, lime juice and/or vinegar
  • Sea salt, freshly ground black pepper, and/or red pepper flakes
  • Seeds, chia, hemp, sunflower and/or sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • Toast bread to desired crispiness.  Let cool slightly, then spread cottage cheese evenly over the toasts.
  • Top the toast slices with tomato, cucumber and/or avocado slices, along with microgreens, sprouts or baby arugula (if you’d like). Drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice, lime juice or vinegar. Season the toast with salt and pepper (and/or red pepper flakes), and garnish with your favorite seeds and herbs.
