- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs (room temperature)
- ½ cup maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- ¼ cup sliced almonds
- ¼ cup powdered sugar (optional)
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan (or 9-inch cake pan) with parchment paper for easy removal.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the almond flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl and stir until the cake batter has no visible dry clumps remaining. Pour the batter into the pan and top with sliced almonds.
Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the cake cool for 15 minutes in the pan, then remove. Let the cake cool completely.
Optional: garnish with a dusting of powdered sugar.
