Dry Rubbed Baked Chicken Wings

Ingredients
  

  • 3 pounds chicken wings (thawed completely if using frozen)
  • Optional: Oil or cooking spray to grease baking sheet

Dry Rub

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • ¼ teaspoons black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a large sheet pan with aluminum foil and grease with oil (optional). Set aside.
  • Combine all dry rub ingredients in a small mixing bowl. In a large bowl, place chicken wings and season with dry rub mixture.
  • Place coated wings on a prepared baking sheet in a single layer, not touching. 
  • Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. 
  • After 20 minutes, take the wings out and flip them over. Return the sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes or until the wings are at 165°F.
  • Serve wings immediately plain or with blue cheese dressing.
