What are pinwheels?
Pinwheels, often referred to as “pinwheel sandwiches” or “sandwich pinwheels”, are a type of appetizer or snack made by rolling up various fillings in a flatbread or tortilla and then slicing it into individual portions. The name “pinwheel” comes from the visual resemblance of the sliced roll to the spinning blades of a pinwheel toy.
Pinwheels can be customized with a wide variety of ingredients, allowing for endless possibilities in terms of flavors, textures, and presentation. Above all, they are a versatile and popular choice for parties, potlucks, and picnics.
