Tachos (Loaded Tater Tots)

Tachos (Loaded Tater Tots)

Tachos (loaded tater tots) can be your main dish, a snack, or an appetizer! Loaded Tachos (or tot nachos) are a variation of nachos that features crispy potato tots in place of tortilla chips for the base.

Why Tachos Are So Good

1. Flavor Explosion

Tachos offer a flavor explosion that combines the best of both worlds. You will enjoy the crispiness of the tater tots and the heartiness of tacos. The combination of textures and taste is simply irresistible.
2. Customizable
One of the great things about tachos is that they’re highly customizable. You can tailor them to your liking by making them as spicy, cheesy, or meaty as you want.
3. Perfect for Sharing
Tachos are a fantastic option for gatherings, parties, and game nights. They’re easy to share, and everyone can create their own customized portion.

Tachos

Tachos will let your imagination run wild. You can use ingredients like seasoned ground beef, shredded chicken, black beans, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, jalapeños, and, of course, lots of melted cheese. Customize your tachos to suit your taste.

Ingredients for this recipe

To get started, you’ll need the following ingredients: frozen tater tots, ground beef, taco seasoning, nacho cheese sauce, tomato, green onions, jalapeño pepper and and your favorite nacho toppings (optional): sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, cilantro, etc.

How to make Tachos (Loaded Tater Tots)

1. First, preheat the oven to 425ºF. Arrange tater tots in a single layer on a sheet pan. Bake for 30 minutes, until golden and crispy (or cook tater tots according to the package directions).

2. Meanwhile, place a large skillet over medium heat on the stovetop. Add ground beef to the skillet. Brown the ground beef, use a spatula to break up the meat as it cooks. If necessary, drain any fat from the pan. Add taco seasoning and combine with beef, then follow the seasoning package directions for preparing taco meat. Next, warm the nacho cheese sauce (follow heating directions on the container).

3. Assemble Tachos: Arrange baked tater tots on a large serving platter. Spoon cooked ground beef evenly over top. Drizzle cheese sauce and top with diced tomatoes, sliced green onions, and jalapeño slices. Finally, add your favorite garnishes on top and serve immediately.
