How to make this Recipe:
- Prepare the dough
Preheat oven to 450F and line a large baking pan with parchment paper. Prepare and roll out the puff pastry into a 10×15-inch rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Transfer to the prepared baking pan. Use a knife gently score a 1-inch border around the pastry dough with shallow cuts (do not cut through the pastry). Inside the scored border, lightly poke holes all over the pastry dough with a fork (do not poke through the dough).
- Sprinkle cheddar cheese
Sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly over the pastry inside the border.
- Add asparagus
Top cheese with asparagus in a single layer alternating ends and tips. In a small bowl, add olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper, and stir to combine. Brush the mixture over the asparagus and top with Parmesan cheese. In another small bowl, beat egg with a fork. Brush the egg wash over the border on all sides.
