Easy Speculoos Tiramisu

Speculoos Tiramisu

Speculoos Tiramisu is a simplified version of a traditional Italian dessert. It combines the irresistible flavors with the spiced charm of Speculoos cookies. No-bake and make-ahead too!

Gather all Ingredients

To get started, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Mascarpone cream: heavy whipping cream, mascarpone, confectioners sugar, and vanilla extract.
  • Biscoff biscuits/cookies and cookie butter. Did you know that the Biscoff brand, and its parent company Lotus, began in a bakery in Lembeke, Belgium, in 1932? Lotus is still headquartered in the small town, and is run by the same family.
  • Coffee: a medium to dark roast coffee will be the best option as you will get the most prominent coffee flavors.
  • Cocoa powder. Did you know that cocoa powder is an end product after cacao beans have been fermented, roasted and pressed to extract most of the cocoa butter?
Ingredients

How to make this Recipe:

  1. Prepare Mascarpone Cream

In a medium bowl, combine whipping cream, confectioners sugar, and vanilla. Whip into soft peaks, then add mascarpone and mix to combine. Spoon a layer of the mascarpone cream into four serving glasses, roughly smoothing the top.

  2. Dip Biscuits into the Coffee

One at a time, dip four biscuits into the coffee, then place on top of mascarpone mixture in each glass. If needed, snap the cookies to fit before you dip them.

  3. Spread the Cookie Butter

Spread the cookie butter onto four more biscuits and place these on top of the other cookies in the glasses. If needed, snap the cookies to fit.

  4. Add another layer

Then, add another layer of mascarpone cream and repeat with a layer of coffee-soaked biscuits and cookie buttered biscuits.

  5. Finish and Enjoy

Finish with a final layer of mascarpone cream. Finally, refrigerate for 2-3 hours (or overnight) to set, this allows the biscuits to soften then dust the tops with cocoa powder to serve.

Easy Speculoos Tiramisu: Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, you can experiment with additional flavors. Some people add a touch of cinnamon, nutmeg, or even a splash of liqueur to enhance the taste.

Can I make Speculoos Tiramisu ahead of time?

Yes, Tiramisu generally benefits from some chilling time and making it ahead of time is a great idea. It also allows the flavors to develop.

Can I freeze Speculoos Tiramisu?

Tiramisu is generally not recommended for freezing as the texture of the mascarpone mixture may change upon thawing. It’s best enjoyed fresh or after refrigerating for a few hours.

Healthier Cranberry Orange Bread

Healthier Cranberry Orange Bread

Moist, flavorful, and loaded with fresh cranberries, this easy Healthier Cranberry Orange Bread is perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Choosing Wholesome Ingredients

Whole Wheat
One of the key steps in making Healthier Cranberry Orange Bread is selecting the right ingredients. Instead of regular all-purpose flour, I like using whole wheat flour. It adds a nutty depth to the bread and brings along the benefits of fiber. I like to use the King Arthur, 100% Organic White Whole Wheat Flour.

Natural Sweeteners
Swap out refined sugar for natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup. Not only do they add sweetness, but they also contribute additional nutrients and a more complex flavor.

The Importance of Fresh Ingredients

Fresh Cranberries and Oranges
I like using fresh cranberries and oranges. Fresh fruits not only enhance the taste but also provide a dose of vitamins and antioxidants. The natural juiciness of the fruits will also keep your Cranberry Orange Bread moist.

Goodness of Cranberries

Many people consider cranberries to be a superfood due to their high nutrient and antioxidant content: Health Benefits of Cranberries. Incorporating cranberries into your desserts not only adds a burst of flavor but also brings a nutritional boost.

For Graze: powdered sugar, freshly squeezed orange juice, and orange zest.

How to make this Healthier Cranberry Orange Bread

1. First, preheat the oven to 325 F and line a 8×4 loaf pan with parchment paper. Set aside. Next, in a small bowl, toss the cranberries with 1 teaspoon of flour. Set aside. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 80 minutes. Remove from the oven. When the bread has sat for about 15 minutes, transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.

3. Finally, glaze: mix together orange juice, orange zest and powdered sugar. If needed, add more orange juice or powdered sugar until you reach the desired consistency. Pour glaze over bread.
